Don Barker
(FWCB) is an eminent master blacksmith based near York, England, with over 40 years of experience. He is highly regarded for his traditional craft skills, having served as the first working smith to be elected Prime Warden of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths in London for more than 20 years 200 years.
Notable Projects and Experience
Don’s career includes prestigious commissions and deep-rooted heritage:
- • Royal and Historic Commissions: He has restored the railings and created Gothic-style lanterns for Westminster Abbey, produced bronze lamps for the Queen Mother’s memorial on The Mall, and crafted lighting for St Paul’s Cathedral.
- Blacksmithing Lineage: He can trace his family’s blacksmithing tradition back over 300 years to the early 18th century.
